California’s next great valley is “Lithium Val,” which will power electric cars in the future.

Long considered a center for geothermal power generation, the Salton Sea is now a neglected backwater in Southern California. It is home to a vast amount of lithium and is being called “Lithium Valley”. As it’s used in the production of electric vehicles batteries, this silvery-white metal has become a hugely popular commodity. Ben Tracy reports.
